My farm, Mama Microgreens, is a small "direct-to-consumer" farm that offers quick home deliveries in the Willowdale area, North York. We "grow-to-order" and specialize in four varieties of nutritious microgreens: broccoli, peas, sunflower, and radish.
What are microgreens?
Microgreens are the earliest stage of a vegetable plant’s development, after the sprouting stage. They are “living foods” – Purposefully utilized in their most nutritious and delicious state.

When is the delivery/pickup day and times?Saturdays 12-4pm

Is it possible to pickup or deliver outside of the Saturday schedule?Yes, by advanced request only

Do microgreens need to be washed before eating?Yes, cold rinse before use since occasionally there may be leftover husk shells (especially for sunflower) or soil bits.

How long is the shelf life?Usually two weeks. Tip: Add and replace paper towel every 2-3 days to extend shelf life

Is it possible to use my own reusable containers?Yes! Alternatively, we offer an optional container exchange program for recurring customers who want to reduce plastic waste. On every pickup/delivery day, simply exchange the previous week's empty containers with the latest week's set containers.

How did you get started selling microgreens?I wanted myself and aging parents to better manage chronic health issues by eating healthier food. Microgreens were the answer to this need, but it was challenging to find fresh, quality microgreens at local supermarkets. I decided that growing my own microgreens would be the solution. Soon, friends and neighbours' word-of-mouth grew, and eventually more people started asking if I could grow and sell to them. Today, my small farm feeds a growing number of health-conscious customers who expect the freshest, quality microgreens for themselves and their families.
